Lazy Goose's 2011 Year-End Review Part 2: Bucket List

These are dramas I either did not finish or kind-of-finished-but-not-really.

Dramas I kind-of-watched through recaps:

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

I read the recaps for the first 16 episodes of this drama and watched only a few scenes. Even through recaps I can see that it lost steam toward the end. I never got around to read the last 4 episodes's recaps. However, I read the ending though... I might never watch this because I already know what happenned and because of  the nonsensical ending. The bromance was epic! I can even feel it through the recaps. The romance was cute too. My favorite character was Yoo Ah In's Moon Jae Shin.

49 Days
I did not become disappointed with this drama's ending probably because I never got excited in the first place. I never watched a single scene from this drama but read all 20 episodes's recaps. 49 Days has an interesting premise but did not deliver fully on the set up. It's forgetable. To be honest, I can't remember any other plot point besides the pilot and the ending.

Miss Ripley
I read all of the episodes's recaps and watched a few scenes. I don't regret it though since this drama is no gem. The downfall of an anti-heroine was interesting to watch and Lee Da Hae delivered her best performance in recent years.

Scent of a Woman
The tango scenes were hot but the rest was forgetable. I was cheering for the nerdy doctor second lead because the main lead proved to be a useless chaebol's son that can't make up his mind. I still like Lee Dong Wook though.

Secret Garden
It was a mess, but a hot mess. I actually watched the first 7 episodes or so without reading the recaps first. But it became draggy in the middle so I started reading the recaps. The ending was cute but the way to get there was so illogical! It undone the whole point of this drama. Even though as a whole, this drama stunk. Some of its dialogues were sharp; others tear-jerking. One complaint I have this drama besides its illogicality: Hyun Bin needs to gain some weight. I was astonished how skinny he looks next to the already skinny Ha Ji Won during the whole time I was watching. Seriously, does he even eat at all? It's a turn off for me but they have explosive chemistry to make up for it. Talk about chemistry, I was surprised how daring this drama is to openly explore the sexual tension. Other dramas I watched implied it. But this drama blatantly said it out loud. So kudos to you, drama, in this aspect.

Dramas I will finish:

Queen of Reversals
I watched this just for Park Shi Hoo. I still have 10 episodes to go though. Its long duration, 31 episodes, proved to be a hindrance to many viewers. To invest that much of time into a series, it has better be awesome. Queen of Reversals wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. I was only able to endure it because of Park Shi Hoo. The first half was boring so I fast-forwarded for the most part. If you're going to watch this series, do the same. It only gets interesting in the laster half where Park Shi Hoo stole the girl as a second lead. He's a second-lead usurper!

Bad Family
A fun and down-to-earth family drama. Its concept is not ingenious but its execution is all heart and sincerity. I need to finish the last 2 episodes though.

Dramas I did not finish:
City Hunter
I did not finish episode 4. This drama did not grab me in the heart. I totally forgot about it; I didn't even read the recaps. However, I read the ending... I know, bad habit. So now I am discouraged to continue watching because I know the ending!

Golden Bride
I watched the first 4 episodes and the last episode. Yeah...

My Name is Kim Sam Soon
I never got the hype with this drama. Maybe it's because of my age. I did not connect with the Sam Soon and did not understand how everyone fell in love with Hyun Bin.

Coffee Prince
I know mentally this is a good drama. The I-love-you-so-much-i'll-go-gay-for-you is attractive but for some reason, some weird reason, I can't get past episode 9. That's already with lots of fast-forwarding.
